sharepoint - How to modify Choice field values (add & remove) without altering the original entries -


i working sharepoint list has "category" column, choice field, let's categories a,b,c,d (right now) simplicity. @ beginning of fiscal year (1.5 months) these not same- additions , deletions needed, need make sure original list values field not change (the ones have been entered).

if modify choice field values directly remove item, let's a, remove instances of throughout list? ie. safe edit field directly, or should create "historical category" column store old values.

just set test list choice column containing values 1,2,3,4. created few list entries, modified choice column values 11,12,13,14. original list entry values choice column did not change (ie preserved). conclusion seems modifying choice column values not alter original list entries, although must careful not overwrite them 1 of newly modified values.

javascript - IE11 incompatibility with jQuery's 'readonly'? -
