audio - Automatic slider in Pure Data? -
i trying simulate ocean sound automatically on pure data. far have accomplished achieve basic sound filtering noise [bp~]. have seen best range of cut-off frequency 300 500 hz, therefore have horizontal slider [hsl] goes 300 500 , back, automatically , on loop until tell stop. (i have assigned range (300,500) slider, need control automatically now). have tried [osc~] won't work because slider not audio element , [osc~]'s output audio signal. in picture show have far:
so how can control slider automatically without having vary manually? far works want to, need slider increase , decrease periodically simulate sea waves.
if question be: how automate slider? answer @ [line] object. line interpolates current value target value in given time.
(note: when controlling signals, use [line~] instead.)
however, goal simulation of sea shore wave. in above slider automation 2 issues: 1.) operating in control data rate opposed signal data rate , 2.) want ease-in , ease-out of ramping. oscillator solve both of problems @ same time.
(note: omitted here simplification amplitude control should not linear due perception of volume not being equal power increase.)
since don't want change amplitude only, timbre (cut-off frequency of bandpass) want use sine function can run counter through achieve desired output range animation including easing-in , -out. note: slider acts merely visualization in patch.
